CoCoBear's Hair Care

So way back when I said I would share how I wash, condition and style CoCoBear’s hair. I have finally put the post together (yeahhhhh me). This is another picture heavy post as I wanted you all too get the real feel of each step I do on her hair. Ever little girl or boy with curly kinky hair has different texture’s, however they all need moisture and TLC to thrive.

Check the steps below…
Left-right: Hair ready to be washed, Shampoo using Anita Grant Babassu bar, texture of hair after rinse, Detangle using Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth

Both these conditioners can be found in most beauty stores. I used TRESemme for moisture and it has fantastic slip for detangling purposes  I only do a protein treatment once every 6 weeks, sometimes using the Organics Roots Stimulate Hair Mayo. Click for Anita Grant for shampoo bar.

Those little bits wash right out, its just the egg used in the conditioner. Egg is a fantastic source of protein. The plastic cap is left on for 20-30 mins to help penetrate the hair strands.
Washed, conditioned and water was absorbed using an old T-Shirt, as a towel catches on to hair strands.

Left-right: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In conditioner and Raw Shea Butter. I apply both to each section of hair, starting from the bottom working my way up. You really don't need allot of product ( hence my picture ).

I use a mix of Olive oil and Jamaican Black Castor oil for the scalp. I switch up the use of the other oils all the time, for example sometimes I add to make my conditioners special other times one or two are the final step in locking in moisture.

After rubbing both products on her hair, I part it into medium size sections and twist the hair in two. I then thread the hair with hair thread, this stretches the hair out and the twist stays neat for double the time. FACT. Here’s a YouTube clip from GirlsLoveYourCurls on how to African thread. I was terrible when I first tried (I've got high standards) but after doing it twice, I’m good too go. Threading is great if you are like me and don’t blow dry your little ones hair. Because once you take the twist down you have a similar effect.

All done!
