Ibiza baby! Part 1

Couple weeks back, I and two of my girlfriends jumped on a plane to the always stunning and sexy Ibiza. It was my second time on the island, but smashed my first visit to pieces! Everything was better this time round, the people I went with, the places we went, the people we become BFF's with (for a day of course) and the music we heard. It turns out I'm not the only person that hearts Ibiza, as almost everyone we spoke to had returned time and time again. I took as much pictures as I could (although Disaronno was swimming through my body, so it was not easy). As I have pictures ranging from street style, to me and my girls’ style to day/ nights out. I have decided to do a three part post on my time there. I really don't want to leave out anything. Besides, it looks like everyone has booked a flight to the party island this summer, and it’s my duty to share all with you. That way you can all have a heads up on what to pack in your suitcase, where too go to cut some serious shapes and even the best place on the island to get a tattoo!
Scroll down to see my first round of pictures…..

STREET STYLE IN IBIZA

As you can see from the pictures above, Ibiza style is what every you want it to be. Just another reason why I love Ibiza, there aren't any rules, just do you! Because, frankly most people are on cloud 9 most of the time, to even care what you have on. We made the mistake of taking loads of heels with us and only wore them once/twice! Words cannot describe how happy we were that we all brought white All Stair Converse with us. They went with EVERYTHING and it seemed as if the whole island was sponsored by Converse.

Part 2 will be up ASAP. Don’t forget you can subscribe (click right-hand side links) that way you won’t miss any of my post.

CoCoBear's Hair Care

So way back when I said I would share how I wash, condition and style CoCoBear’s hair. I have finally put the post together (yeahhhhh me). This is another picture heavy post as I wanted you all too get the real feel of each step I do on her hair. Ever little girl or boy with curly kinky hair has different texture’s, however they all need moisture and TLC to thrive.

Check the steps below…
Left-right: Hair ready to be washed, Shampoo using Anita Grant Babassu bar, texture of hair after rinse, Detangle using Tresemme Naturals Vibrantly Smooth

Both these conditioners can be found in most beauty stores. I used TRESemme for moisture and it has fantastic slip for detangling purposes  I only do a protein treatment once every 6 weeks, sometimes using the Organics Roots Stimulate Hair Mayo. Click for Anita Grant for shampoo bar.

Those little bits wash right out, its just the egg used in the conditioner. Egg is a fantastic source of protein. The plastic cap is left on for 20-30 mins to help penetrate the hair strands.
Washed, conditioned and water was absorbed using an old T-Shirt, as a towel catches on to hair strands.

Left-right: Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In conditioner and Raw Shea Butter. I apply both to each section of hair, starting from the bottom working my way up. You really don't need allot of product ( hence my picture ).

I use a mix of Olive oil and Jamaican Black Castor oil for the scalp. I switch up the use of the other oils all the time, for example sometimes I add to make my conditioners special other times one or two are the final step in locking in moisture.

After rubbing both products on her hair, I part it into medium size sections and twist the hair in two. I then thread the hair with hair thread, this stretches the hair out and the twist stays neat for double the time. FACT. Here’s a YouTube clip from GirlsLoveYourCurls on how to African thread. I was terrible when I first tried (I've got high standards) but after doing it twice, I’m good too go. Threading is great if you are like me and don’t blow dry your little ones hair. Because once you take the twist down you have a similar effect.

All done!

Curlvolution

Hey people! On Saturday 25th May myself, CoCoBear and my friend made are way down to Curlvolution's Curlfriends day out. I went last year and was excited to see what would be on display. It was a GREAT day! Our minds where filled with useful tips on hair and we saw some amazing hair styles, not forgetting a who’s who of the natural hair scene. They had vendors there promoting products and offering advice on all things hair and beauty. Some of the Vendors where Afrocenchix, BeUnique, Sheabutter cottage, Beautiful textures, Design Essentials, Curls Unleashed and Root 2 Tip. Check out the pictures below, to see what went down.

Top tips from the day
Afrobella- When asked how do you deal with writing a post on a topic that has already been covered.  Answer- I only comment on a particular topic when I feel passionate about it.

ROOT2TIPS- You don’t always have too cornrow your child's hair to see growth! Given that her daughter Heaven has waist length hair I think she may have a point.

Dr. Reginald Mitchell of ORS ( formally Organics Root Stimulator ) Said women need to wash their hair more often. Imagine being next to a women that hasn't washed their weave in two months! Ahhahahaahhahahah this man is funny. He also said it was important to exfoliate your scalp, as dead skin cells block new hair growth.

I’m sure Curlvolution will hold another Curlfriends day out. I for one will be there again. Congratulations to the whole Curlvolution's team for putting on an entertaining, informative and welcoming event.

Shoes- Zara- SOLD OUT

Hide and Seek

My girl was off to a Christening party. As she really wanted to wear those shoes, the rest of the outfit was built around them. Think the trousers break up the print nicely.
Look at her holding down her twist that refused to hang down. The good news is that her hat came to the rescue and flattered them down. She's lucky I'm cool, my mum use to make me go to school with plaits sticking up to the SKY!

So there you have it my smart, funny, beautiful and O so stylish ( well i think so ) 3 year old. Believe it or not she already has developed her own take on clothes and will tell me straight if she doesn't like/ feel comfortable in something.
Every now and again i buy her clothes from the boys department, because they have pieces that are to lovely to pass up. Or are in the sale! Her brown leather boots above where only £10.99 from Zara. So remember just because you don't have a son, does not mean you can't dress your princess like one. I like to keep it girlie buy adding a few girlie accessories. In this case it was these sweet bow hair clips and by leaving her hair out.

I will do a post soon on how i look after her hair and the products i use.
